Certificates of Law, Affidavits & Oaths
Occasionally, British & Irish citizens residing in Spain, for legal matters in their home country, are asked to supply Certificates of Law, or require a practising solicitor to witness the execution of Affidavits or Oaths. Many Spanish notaries refuse to sign English documents, and a Spanish lawyer is not regarded as an officer of the court and as such cannot act in the matter.
Malaga Law Solicitors, with its English practising solicitor, can assist clients with the following:-
- Witness the swearing of Oaths or Affidavits
- Witness the signing of Land Registry forms (ie ID1)
- Certify copies of documents, certificates etc.
- Provide official translations of legal documents
- Arrange legalisation (i.e. apostille) of Spanish documents for use outside of Spain
